11.7.2012 – LIFT

First activity post-ACDF.  Emailed Rachel last night to explain what my restrictions were and see if they were willing to accommodate.  Said no problem, forwarded to Colin.  Honestly, that’s pretty awesome.

Felt incredibly good to be doing anything at all.  Colin was great about identifying alternate movements to minimize possibility of strain.  Did the following:

Lunges

goblet squats (1x12kg)

ring rows/bat stretches

more lunges

farmers carry (2x16kg)

How’d I feel?

1.  Like I haven’t done anything in six weeks.  Which is true.  Took it easy, but broke a sweat.  No rush here.

2.  A little sore around the spine, but that’s to be expected.  Muscular non-use type sore, and I’m fine with that.

3.  Weak, and a little numb, in the left arm, particularly during the ring rows.  I did not expect that, and I find it troubling.

4.  Some weakness in the left leg, in the quad and the calf.  This also is troubling.
